| During the first three days after arrival the SAI Program Coordinator organizes a series of meetings and events designed to provide students with a thorough orientation of the city and surrounding area, and a full explanation of the academic program, including an introduction to the faculty and staff.
On arrival days, students are met at the Catania Fontanarossa airport and taken to Syracuse by bus, a 45 minute drive, for the program check-in. On the first night of orientation there is a short tour of the city, which gives our new arrivals a sense of context and allows them to get their bearings. Immediately following is a welcome dinner, in a typical Sicilian trattoria. By the end of orientation, students will have a clear understanding of their new environment and will feel confident moving about the city independently.
