Cultural Events: The SAI resident Program Coordinator regularly organizes social and cultural events for SAI students, including:
- Events held in cooperation with local students: language exchanges, art exhibits, soccer games.
- Sporting events: hiking, biking, sailing, climbing, bowling, snorkeling.
- Cultural events: italian film nights, culianry courses, puppet show, cultural lecture series, wine tasting, night at the opera, market tour.
Volunteer Program:
Study Abroad Italy aims to offer assistance to the local community by placing volunteers in important local projects that range from arts education and language initiatives in local schools, to working with immigrants, the elderly, and the disabled. Students are encouraged to explore the treasures of the Mediterranean basin, and every effort is made to help them visit the wonders of Sicily. Just outside of the city, in addition to the many swimming spots in town, there are several great beaches, including the beautiful sandy resorts of Arenella and Fontane Bianche.
For those wishing to explore the rest of the island, buses and trains depart frequently in every direction. |
